Summary

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a precise remake of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, with the original pre-rendered environments reimagined in real-time 3D while keeping the core gameplay intact. The game transforms the original's segmented screens into a seamless 2.5D side-scrolling experience. Though character designs and environments have been enhanced with added details, the fundamental gameplay remains largely unchanged when compared directly. Abe's GameSpeak system, used to issue commands and communicate with other characters, begins with a basic set of instructions that can be expanded as the game progresses. This edition features leaderboards tracking completion times for each mode and the full game. It offers three difficulty settings and retains the original's co-op mode, allowing a second player to take control when the first player is defeated, alternating turns as Abe.

Storyline

A mudokon marked by the whims of fate, Abe was a top-tier Floor-Waxer at RuptureFarms until destiny thrust him into a world of peril and wonder. One fateful night, he stumbled upon a sinister plot by his boss, Molluck the Glukkon, to transform Abe and his fellow Mudokons into Tasty Treats in a desperate bid to salvage Molluck's crumbling meat empire! Can Abe alter the destiny of thousands and save his people? Can he flee the shadowy depths of RuptureFarms and the bleak, foreboding, and horrifying wastelands beyond? Guide this unlikely hero on his perilous journey, because if he fails… Abe ends up on the menu!
