Operation Thunderbolt

70.6(6 votes)Released: 1988

Summary

Operation Thunderbolt is the thrilling follow-up to Operation Wolf. A commercial jet is seized by terrorists mid-flight from Paris to Boston, who vow to execute all passengers unless their comrades are freed from prison. Rather than arriving at its intended destination, the plane touches down in Kalubya, Africa, and the hostages are scattered across different locations. The authorities have once again called upon the hero from Operation Wolf to save the day, and this time, he's bringing a friend along for the mission. Operation Thunderbolt features eight distinct missions, each filled with action as you take down enemy soldiers, helicopters, and tanks. The gameplay shifts every one or two levels. In some missions, you'll be behind the wheel of a jeep or steering a boat, while in others, you'll be on foot, firing as you move. Ammo and rocket bombs are limited, but you can replenish your supplies by destroying crates dropping from above or by shooting animals like cats or dogs that cross your path. Crates also contain valuable power-ups such as bulletproof vests, additional rocket bombs, and new weapons.
