Orguss is a shoot-'em-up game created and released by Sega for the SG-1000. In the game, players control a robot capable of transforming into a starship. It is inspired by the science fiction anime series Super Dimension Century Orguss. Players can freely switch between robot and starship forms, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. In robot mode, players can destroy ground targets and enjoy more movement freedom, though they become a larger target for enemies. This mode allows for rapidfire shooting but limits speed. In starship mode, players can't destroy ground units, but the ship's smaller size makes it harder to hit. Movement is faster in this mode, but rapidfire is unavailable. Button 1 toggles between forms, and button 2 handles firing. Orguss was followed by a spiritual successor, TransBot, which launched on the Sega Master System in 1985.
