Storyline
The story of Phantasy Star Online has no connection to the original Phantasy Star series and is considered less in-depth. Facing the imminent destruction of their homeworld, thousands of refugees arrive on the planet Ragol via the spaceship Pioneer 2. As they make contact with earlier colonists from Pioneer 1, a massive explosion rattles the planet. Adventurers from Pioneer 2 descend to investigate the blast and search for Rico Tyrell, the daughter of Pioneer 2's leader. They find the planet overrun by monsters and follow clues left by Rico, which lead them to an ancient malevolent force known as Dark Falz.
