Storyline
Phantasy Star Online's story is separate from the original Phantasy Star series and is more limited in scope. When their home world faces imminent destruction, thousands of refugees arrive on the planet Ragol via the spaceship Pioneer 2. As they make contact with the earlier Pioneer 1 colonists, a massive explosion rocks the planet. Adventurers from Pioneer 2 descend to the surface to investigate the blast and locate Rico Tyrell, the daughter of Pioneer 2's leader. They find the planet overrun by creatures and follow clues Rico left behind, leading them toward an ancient menace known as Dark Falz.
