Pikiinya! is an action-puzzle video game exclusive to Japan, developed by Crea-Tech and published by ASCII. It launched in 1997 for the Super Famicom. Pikiinya! builds on the classic Tetris-style gameplay of falling blocks, but adds lively, tropical penguins that spin and bounce. These penguins get easily excited and tend to fall asleep when they're alone or bored. Their goal is simple: just to live in peace. In the game's story mode, they must battle against various villains trying to capture them, such as poachers, witch doctors, and eccentric scientists. The characters were designed by Tamakichi Sakura, known for his work on Super Mario Adventures. The game was designed by Hiroshi Miyaoka and Tomoki Tauchi, with voice acting provided by Maki Yagita.
