Summary

Pirate101 is a pirate-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by KingsIsle Entertainment and launched in 2012. As a companion title to Wizard101, it takes place in the same universe, where players take on the role of brave pirates on a quest to uncover the treasures of the "Spiral."

Storyline

The game begins with the protagonist, a young pirate orphan, locked up on a ship in Skull Island after defying the Armada. Boochbeard and Mr. Gandry spring the player to safety and guide them to the central hub of Skull Island to meet Captain Horace Avery, a rich and retired pirate who owns and oversees the entire Skyway. The player completes tasks for Avery to earn their place, eventually being tasked with finding fragments of a map leading to El Dorado, a legendary world entirely made of gold. The player journeys through various realms of the Spiral, including the China-inspired MooShu and the Wild West-style Cool Ranch, in pursuit of the map fragments. As the story unfolds, the player gathers most of the pieces and battles members of Kane’s Court. The game's climax takes place in Valencia, a Renaissance Italy-themed world and the birthplace of Kane and the Armada. This world is ruled by a massive floating machine that Kane plans to use to destroy the Spiral. The player ultimately defeats Kane, though Queen remains unharmed. The story remains unresolved beyond this point.
