Pokémon Battrio is an arcade game that was revealed on April 11, 2007, and launched in Japan on November 21, 2007. In the game, players maneuver tazos featuring Pokémon on a grid. Designed for two-player competitive play, it lets participants battle each other using up to three Pokémon. It marks the first significantly modified Pokémon game for arcade systems. The game was never released outside of Japan. Because of its success, an updated version titled Battrio: V was developed, as the name suggests, featuring Pokémon from the fifth generation.
