Pokémon Medallion Battle is a Facebook Gaming spin-off title developed by GCTurbo. It launched in select Asian regions on December 23, 2019, after an open beta in the Philippines starting on November 20, 2019. The game supports five languages: English, Malaysian, Indonesian, Thai, and Traditional Chinese. In Pokémon Medallion Battle, two players battle using teams of six Pokémon. Initially, up to two of these can be Great Ball or Ultra Ball level Pokémon, with this limit increasing as players advance through the different Gyms. Additionally, no two Pokémon from the same evolutionary line can be used at the same time, and no more than two Legendary Pokémon (marked by a Crown on the top of the medal) can be included in a team. Players take turns placing Pokémon from their Bench face down; the tier is visible on the back of the medallion, giving the second player an advantage. On the first turn, the player with the higher Rating goes first; otherwise, the winner of the previous turn takes the lead. Once both medallions are placed, they are turned face up and any relevant abilities trigger. Once an ability is used, it cannot be activated again during the match. The Pokémon with the higher CP wins the round, earning a point for its team. In the case of a tie, the player who went first is declared the winner. The first player to reach three points wins the match.
