Don't be misled by the "2010 Edition" label—this game is actually based on the original version of the iconic 80s game show Press Your Luck. The flashy 1980s set design and the overall flow of the show have been accurately recreated in digital format. The game offers a single-player mode where the contestant plays through 20 episodes featuring various opponents and gradually increasing difficulty. For a more social experience, up to three players can compete as contestants in the game's "Party Mode." Gameplay closely follows the structure of the original game show. Each episode consists of two rounds, each featuring a question phase and a board phase. During the question phase, players are presented with four multiple-choice questions. Answering correctly and ringing in first earns a player 3 spins, while the other two players can then select their answers to earn 1 spin each. Wrong answers result in no spins. In the board phase, players use their collected spins to accumulate cash. The board spins randomly until the player presses a button to stop it, awarding the cash value of the space it lands on. If the board stops on a cartoon "Whammy," the player's score is reset to zero. Accumulating four Whammies eliminates a contestant from the game. The strategy is to keep playing as long as possible and then pass off remaining spins to opponents in an attempt to send them into a Whammy. As players progress and win games, they can unlock new costumes and hairstyles for their in-game avatar.
