Project X Zone is a crossover tactical role-playing game developed for the Nintendo 3DS. It serves as a sequel to the game Namco × Capcom and brings together characters from Namco Bandai, Capcom, and Sega. In Project X Zone, battles occur on grid-based stages drawn from the various crossover franchises featured in the game. Each player-controlled team consists of two characters, known as a Pair Unit, though a third character, called a Solo Unit, can be deployed for a one-time assist during a battle. Unlike in Namco × Capcom, units can move freely within their movement range on the battlefield, and there is no penalty for interacting with treasure chests or breaking objects before making an attack.
