Summary
Puyo Puyo is the Game Gear adaptation of the original Puyo Puyo game, featuring an added quest mode. The port was released exclusively in Japan but includes a hidden English localization titled Puzlow Kids. This version activates when the game cartridge is used on a North American or European system.
Storyline
The Scenario mode introduces Arle Nadja, the main character of the Madou Monogatari series. She has mastered a spell called Owanimo, which transforms four or more creatures of the same color into pure energy. Her goal is to use this powerful technique to defeat Satan, but she must first overcome twelve rival fighters. In the English adaptation, the story takes a slightly different turn: Arle, now named Silvana (Arle Nadja), must defend her homeland from the Black Kingdom. The English names of the characters are provided in parentheses where appropriate.
