A hybrid board and racing game based on a miniature RC car toy line, developed and published by Konami for the Japanese Famicom. Racer Mini Yonku: Japan Cup ("Yonku" meaning four-wheel drive) combines board game elements with racing mechanics, as players build their own RC 4WD cars and compete against computer-controlled rivals in a variety of events, often requiring strategic consideration of terrain. The game was inspired by the popular mini RC car trend in Japan at the time. The title screen acknowledges Tamiya, a well-known Japanese toy company specializing in model kits and remote-controlled vehicles, whose logo is prominently featured throughout the game. Created by Konami for the Famicom, the game was never made available outside of Japan. Players and computer opponents take turns moving across a board to collect money and parts to upgrade their RC cars. Earned money can also be used to purchase new components. Once built, the cars race automatically, with the vehicle that has the best upgrades typically winning the race.
