Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc is the third main installment in the Rayman series and follows Rayman 2. As a 3D platformer, Rayman 3 focuses more on action and combat, with levels designed to be direct and fast-paced rather than emphasizing exploration and platforming.
One night, a Black Lum named André, believed to have emerged from pure darkness, emerges and begins turning other Red Lums into Black Lums to join his cause. As they progress, the group collects enough fur from various creatures in the forest to craft scarecrow-like figures known as Hoodlums. During this time, Murfy, a member and worker of the Fairy Council, stumbles upon them. Later, André spots Murfy hiding in the area and leads his Black Lums in a chase. Murfy is driven toward a small open space where Rayman and his companion Globox are fast asleep. Just as Murfy reaches them, the noise wakes Globox. Now aware of the danger, Globox joins Murfy in trying to protect Rayman, who is still unconscious. In the attempt, Globox accidentally detaches Rayman’s arms, leaving Murfy to lift Rayman by the hair and carry him to safety. To save himself, Globox flees, taking Rayman’s arms with him.
