A journey through a world inspired by the novel of Arthur C. Clarke.
By 2130, all the major asteroids in the solar system have already been cataloged. Smaller ones continue to be discovered at a rate of a dozen per day. So when a massive new asteroid suddenly appears, the only mystery is why it went unnoticed for so long. It is quickly given the next available designation—Rama—and soon forgotten—until it isn’t. As Rama draws closer to Earth, every question about it seems to lead to even greater uncertainty. But as scientists continue their observations, one impossible conclusion becomes the only possible one: Rama is not an asteroid at all, but a spacecraft. The next step is clear—mankind must make contact. But only one ship is in a position to do so. And by fate, that ship is the Endeavor—the one you command. Even before you read your orders, you already know what they will say: rendezvous with the colossal vessel, explore it, make contact with its occupants, and return before it vanishes from the solar system on its relentless orbit. But even as excitement builds, you know this will not be an easy task. You will face tough choices—many of them. And you’ll have to act quickly, because if you linger too long on Rama, there may be no way back. From the very beginning, it was clear: this is the mission you were born for. Thousands would give anything to be in your place. But only you have this chance. Only you can explore Rama.
