Resident Evil: Dead Aim is a survival-horror title launched exclusively for the PlayStation 2 under the Gun Survivor branding, a name used for multiple games designed for Namco's light gun controllers. The gameplay features two distinct camera views: players navigate in third-person while moving, switching to a first-person perspective when aiming their weapon. Throughout the game, you'll collect various firearms such as a magnum, a shotgun, and an assault rifle. However, just like in other Resident Evil titles, eliminating zombies is no easy task, and ammunition is often in short supply.
The story begins aboard the Umbrella-owned cruise ship Spencer Rain, which has been infected by the T-Virus that was stolen from Umbrella's Paris research facility by bioterrorist and ex-employee Morpheus D. Duvall. A U.S. government operative named Bruce McGivern is dispatched to prevent Morpheus from further spreading the zombie-inducing T-Virus.
