Resident Evil: Director's Cut
Summary
Resident Evil: Director's Cut is a revised edition of the original game created to address the widely publicized postponement of the follow-up title, Resident Evil 2. This version features a newly arranged mode with several modifications to the gameplay. The initial launch of the Director's Cut promoted an unaltered, full-color version of the opening cinematic, including previously unseen content. Key elements of this footage include scenes of a corpse with bite marks, detailed shots of zombie dogs bleeding upon being hit, and intense, graphic moments showing Joseph being bitten by the creatures.
Storyline
On July 24, 1998, a string of strange and gruesome murders took place on the outskirts of Raccoon City, a Midwestern town. In response, the Raccoon City Police Department dispatched their elite S.T.A.R.S. unit to look into the incidents. When communication with Bravo Team was lost, Alpha Team was sent to determine their fate. Arriving at the location of Bravo Team’s downed helicopter, Alpha Team is ambushed by a group of monstrous hounds, resulting in the death of one of their own. As the team’s pilot, Brad Vickers, panics and flies away alone, the remaining members—Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, and Barry Burton—are left with no choice but to take shelter in a nearby derelict mansion. They quickly realize this is no ordinary building, but a nightmarish place teeming with the undead and other terrifying creatures lurking in the shadows, ready to feast.
