Venice reached the height of its influence during the Renaissance, celebrated as a city of splendor, beauty, and mystery. Known as the heart of civilization and a cultural hub of Europe, Venice served as the vital link between Western Europe and the eastern Mediterranean. It was also a backdrop for political corruption and secret dealings. This is where your journey begins. As a young man driven by ambition, power, and wealth, and with the backing of your family, you set out to establish a vast trading empire across Genua, Tripoli, Rome, Alexandria, and Constantinople, among many other key cities of the Renaissance. As you rise through the ranks of Venetian society, using shrewd trade strategies and calling in favors when needed, you can start building your own fleet. With it, you'll develop new production centers, challenge yourself in intense naval battles against pirates and political rivals, and ultimately strive to become the Doge of Venice.
