Rock 'n' Roll is a computer game released for the Commodore 64, Atari ST, Amiga, MS-DOS, ZX Spectrum, and Amstrad CPC in 1989 by publisher Rainbow Arts. The Amiga edition's soundtrack was created by Chris Huelsbeck. Rock 'n' Roll is an action-packed puzzle game featuring 32 levels, with an additional hidden bonus level. The player controls a ball, using a mouse on the Amiga or a joystick on the Commodore 64, with the goal of reaching the exit in each level. A variety of objects either assist or obstruct the player's journey. These include locked doors requiring keys, slippery ice that makes steering difficult, fans that blow the ball away, magnets that attract it, and crumbling tiles. A level map is available at all times, though it begins empty. To reveal objects on the map, the player must collect eyes scattered throughout the level. Additional items such as a fastball, spikeball, bombs, and hints for discovering secrets like extra money, extra lives, and shortcuts can also be purchased. The title "Rock 'n' Roll" reflects both the rolling motion of the ball through each level and the upbeat rock and roll music that plays in the background.
