Satella-Q (「サテラQ」) is a series of quiz game events designed for the Satellaview, a peripheral for the Super Famicom. The game centers around Kinopio (known as Toad in English translations), who serves as the main character, leading players through a variety of quizzes and mini-games. The game was released as part of the Periodic Soundlink schedule. In the early days of the Satellaview, St.GIGA aired quiz events titled Waiwai de Q (「わいわいでQ」), which later transitioned into Satella-Q starting with the third event. These broadcasts occurred in scheduled intervals, differing from the standard Soundlink format, where episodes were released weekly until the series ended. In October 1995, Satella-Q was combined with an earlier sound magazine known as WaiWai Check (「わいわいチェック」), reverting the name back to Waiwai de Q. The game leveraged the Satellaview's Soundlink technology to simulate a live quiz show experience, complete with announcers delivering questions and a diverse soundtrack that included classical, J-Pop, and British Rock, often playing a key role in the quizzes themselves. Each episode was divided into "rounds," featuring a mix of quiz formats such as multiple-choice and free-response answers, covering topics from Japanese cultural trivia to identifying objects in blurred, photo-realistic images. Occasionally, non-quiz mini-games were included, such as a challenge where players had to guide Toad through a pool-table-like environment, collecting balls as indicated by the on-screen interface. Another mini-game involved a card game using standard poker cards with Yoshi's image on the back.
