Summary

Regarded as one of the most successful titles for the Genesis/Mega Drive, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 quickly earned critical praise following its 1992 launch. Join Sonic and Tails (in his first appearance!) as they unite to battle the sinister Dr. Eggman and rescue the Chaos Emeralds from falling into the hands of evil. This version features the new Drop Dash from Sonic Mania, along with Super Sonic mode, the ability to start with all the Chaos Emeralds, and the 3DS version's Ring Keeper mode, which causes you to lose only half your rings when hit. It also includes Knuckles' version of the game, Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, originally unlocked by linking Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge.
