Summary

Sensible World of Soccer is an upgraded edition of Sensible Soccer. Nearly every major football league worldwide is featured in the game, with several countries offering not just their top division, but also second, third, and additional tiers. All key international tournaments, both for clubs and national teams, are also included. The game offers a career mode where you can manage or play as a player-manager for up to 20 seasons. As a coach, you're not restricted to a single club or national team—your success can attract offers from major clubs looking to hire you. Every team in the game includes real players from the 1994/1995 season, with accurate names, abilities, and weaknesses. The management aspect lets you purchase any of the 24,000 players if you have the funds and space in your squad. In addition to the player-manager career, you can play friendly matches, single-season campaigns in any competition, or create custom tournaments from scratch or based on real ones. Teams in these competitions can be selected from any country and controlled by either a human or the computer. The DOS version is based on the Amiga 1.1 edition, updated with data from the 1995/1996 season. Version 1.1 introduces the option to switch between player-manager and manager-only roles before each match in a career, along with enhanced on-pitch skills for player-managed teams. Additionally, players' stats improve as they consistently score goals.

Storyline

The career mode in Sensible World of Soccer lets players run a club over the course of 20 seasons. Basic management features include a transfer market where players can be bought or sold. Each team starts with a squad of 16 players. Each player has unique abilities such as speed, tackling, heading, finishing, shooting, passing, and ball control. Player values are determined based on their skill levels. Transfers from other clubs can be made by offering cash and/or trading your own players. To attract and retain stronger players, it's essential to earn money through success in different competitions. Depending on your achievements, you may receive job offers from other clubs or even from the national team.
