In her first DLC appearance, Lara must face the fiery depths of the Forge of the fallen gods to unlock the mysteries of Kuwaq Yaku. Along the way, she will uncover the truth behind a friend’s ancient heritage and confront a threat believed to have been consumed by fire. The Forge features a brand-new challenge tomb, available in both solo and co-op play. Completing the tomb rewards players with the Grenadier skill, the Brocken outfit, and the Umbrage 3-80 weapon. The Forge marks the beginning of seven monthly DLCs included with the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Season Pass, offering players a wealth of new content, challenge tombs, co-op adventures, weapons, outfits, and expanded story missions. It also introduces Score Attack and Time Attack game modes. Lara Croft has conquered treacherous jungles, explored sprawling ruins, and fought against Trinity to determine humanity’s future, all amid the chaos of the Maya apocalypse. But more trials lie ahead in the hidden City of Paititi. New enigmas will emerge, relationships will be tested, and more tombs will be uncovered through a series of DLCs that continue to expand the world of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Lara Croft overhears Pilar and Vancho debating their next move. She asks what the disagreement is about. Pilar explains she possesses an old map intended for Abigaile Ortiz. Lara reveals she knows Abby and that she and Jonah Maiava are staying in the town. Pilar begins to explain that the map was left by Abby’s grandmother, Mariana Ortiz, who passed away a year ago from cancer, with instructions to give it to Abby on the anniversary of her death. Pilar is unsure if Abby is ready for it, and Lara reassures her that Mariana believed she was and that it should be honored. Lara contacts Abby and tells her she has a map for her, and Abby asks her to meet at the community house. Diego, who works there, is said to know maps. Lara arrives at the community house first and meets Diego. Diego recognizes the map as his own work but notices markings he didn’t make. Lara identifies them as lemon juice, a form of invisible ink that appears when heated. Mariana had marked three locations around the town, and after searching, they find three pieces of Chakana. Lara and Abby visit Pilar to ask if she knows anything about the map. Pilar explains it leads to a magical, hidden place built by their ancestors. After assembling the Chakana, it points to one location, which Abby recognizes as a place her grandmother once took her to tell stories. Lara investigates and discovers an ancient forge, with an old tomb of the Maya queen Abarrane atop it. Abarrane was the first guardian of Kuwaq Yaku and built the forge to create a powerful artifact. It turns out Mariana was a descendant of Abarrane. Pilar confirms the story but was bound to secrecy by Mariana. Now with this knowledge, Abigail is to become the new guardian of Kuwaq Yaku. Lara then leaves Abigail and Pilar to talk.
