Shienryu

Summary

Shienryu is a 1997 arcade shoot-'em-up developed by Warashi for the Sega Titan Video system, which was later released on the Sega Saturn.

Storyline

Set far into the future, Earth's population begins seeking new worlds to settle, especially those resembling their home. The fleet of colony ships, referred to as the Caravans, venture into the cosmos until Caravan 7861 finds a promising fourth planet orbiting a foreign star, though no other Caravans have joined them. After 93 years of building a civilization on this new Mother Planet, the mystery of the missing Caravans is finally unraveled: earlier expeditions were ambushed and overthrown by a dominant alien-human empire. Led by the enigmatic Shienryu, the alien armada invades the Mother Planet, erecting strongholds across the globe while erasing and supplanting all human presence. In reaction, a resistance force named "Burn Dragoon" is formed, recruiting the most skilled pilots and navigators to stand against the encroaching regime.
