Summary
This is the original 1995 Devil Summoner game for the Sega Saturn, released exclusively in Japan. It was later brought to the PSP in 2005. Shifting away from the post-apocalyptic setting of the main series, the story is set in contemporary Japan. The main character is an unnamed college student who, along with his girlfriend, is attacked by demons. They are rescued by the smooth-talking demon hunter Kyouji, who appears just in time. Soon after, Kyouji is discovered dead under mysterious conditions. The protagonist is then captured in a warehouse and killed by a twisted murderer named Sid. Instead of remaining dead, the player awakens inside the reanimated body of the deceased Kyouji and manages to flee the morgue. Guided by Kyouji's voice echoing in his mind, the protagonist teams up with Kyouji's female partner, Rei, to rescue his girlfriend, who remains in grave danger.
