Summary

Silhouette Mirage is a side-scrolling action game with gameplay that bears a resemblance to Gunstar Heroes. The game's defining aspect is its dual-attribute system. Depending on the enemy's attributes and the kind of attack Shyna uses, damage output can increase, and spirit—equivalent to magic power—can be drained from foes. Shyna can dash, jump, crouch, slide, and grapple enemies to perform combo attacks. Players can also learn advanced techniques, earn money, and buy unique creatures known as "parasites," which teach Shyna a variety of different attacks.

Storyline

At the dawn of the new millennium, a series of genetic experiments carried out by a team of scientists triggered a catastrophic biological event that altered the genetic fabric of all life on Earth. From the aftermath, two opposing forces emerged: Silhouette and Mirage. Much like the duality of Yin and Yang, these entities are intrinsically linked yet fundamentally at odds in their nature and beliefs. Only a singular being, known as the Messenger—one who possesses a balanced presence of both Silhouette and Mirage—can reach the Edo facility and undo the genetic catastrophe by eradicating both forces. This chosen one is a young girl named Shyna Nera Shyna. Silhouette Mirage is set in the wake of a devastating explosion that caused every human to split into two distinct forms: Silhouette and Mirage. In anticipation of such a disaster, humanity had devised the "Edo System" as a safeguard to restore order, should the Messenger ever be found. That Messenger is Shyna Nera Shyna, also known as the "Messenger of Destruction." However, most of her memories have been wiped, leaving her unaware of Edo's location and forced to search for it. As she embarks on her journey, she discovers that Silhouettes and Mirages are locked in a brutal conflict. Worse still, both factions have reached a chilling consensus: they both seek to eliminate Shyna.
