Summary
In 2000, SimCity 3000 was released under various titles in different regions, such as SimCity 3000 Unlimited (in North America and Oceania), SimCity 3000 Deutschland (Germany), SimCity 3000 UK Edition (UK & Ireland), and SimCity 3000 World Edition (other regions), among others. These versions introduced features like East Asian and European building sets, extra terrain colors and vegetation, a snapshot function, additional music, an enhanced Building Architect Tool (a pseudo-3D cube-based design utility), four new disasters (including locusts and space debris), new landmarks (such as Seoul Tower and Helsinki Cathedral), new reward structures, thirteen scenarios (with an editor built on Microsoft Access), and a new full-motion video introduction. Pre-built cities were also included, such as London and Liverpool for the UK edition, Berlin (featuring the Berlin Wall), Madison, Madrid, Moscow, and Seoul. The game also offered city layouts inspired by real-world geography, including Hong Kong and Chicago. Upon release, EA launched a website for SimCity 3000 Unlimited, enabling players to share their creations with others.
