Summary

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure is the inaugural title in the Skylanders franchise. It is a game that combines physical toy figures with gameplay, using a "Portal of Power" to read each figure's tag via NFC technology. The game includes voice performances by Josh Keaton, Dave Wittenberg, Darin De Paul, Joey Camen, Audrey Wasilewski, Keythe Farley, and Kevin Michael Richardson.

Storyline

The game centers on Spyro and his Skylander allies as they battle Kaos, the malevolent Portal Master. It's a third-person action game where each character possesses unique skills. The characters are grouped into eight classes, each linked to one of the game's eight elements: air, water, earth, tech, undead, magic, fire, and life, with four characters per element. Every character has two main attacks, both of which can be enhanced using coins gathered throughout the game. Gaining experience also unlocks new abilities, either by finding specific hats or through progression, eventually leading to a third, advanced attack. In the toy line, special Gold, Platinum, and Pearl versions of select characters are randomly included.
