Smash Tennis is a tennis video game developed by Namco for the Super Nintendo in 1993. It was published in Europe by Virgin Interactive under the same title. The game didn’t make its way to North American audiences until February 2020, when it became available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online service. The gameplay of Smash Tennis follows a structure similar to other tennis titles, particularly Namco's earlier game, World Court Tennis. Players move their character across the court and press buttons at the right moment to execute shots and win points. This version skips a story mode in favor of a tournament mode, where the objective is to achieve a Grand Slam by winning a series of tournament matches. Each match is played as a single set. The game features 20 playable athletes, both male and female, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses.
