Summary

Snow Bros features gameplay reminiscent of Bubble Bobble, which came out in 1986. The game allows up to two players, each controlling one of the snowmen, Nick or Tom. Players can hurl snow at enemies, and they must keep throwing until the enemy is fully covered, causing it to transform into a snowball. Enemies that are only partially covered in snow can't move until they shake it off. Once an enemy becomes a snowball, players can roll it. The snowball bounces off walls and eventually breaks upon impact. Any enemies it hits are destroyed, and other stationary snowballs begin rolling when struck by the moving one. If a player defeats all enemies using just one snowball—possibly by using it to set off a chain reaction—large green bills will rain from the sky. These appear briefly but are worth 10,000 points each, the highest bonus available. Every ten levels, a boss appears. Each boss can withstand a set number of hits. In the Sega Genesis version, after level 50, players take control of one of the snow castle princesses. When an enemy is knocked over, it might drop a potion bottle. The color of the bottle indicates the special power-up the player will gain.
