Summary

A remarkable amusement park has appeared in orbit around Sonic the Hedgehog's home planet, and whispers tell of a race of alien Wisps, possessing vibrant, colorful energy, being imprisoned there by the sinister Dr. Eggman. Shortly after arriving at the park, Sonic finds he can harness these enigmatic alien powers to aid the Wisps in their escape!

Storyline

Dr. Eggman unveils a massive space amusement park named Dr. Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park, claiming he's changed his ways and is making amends for his previous misdeeds. The park consists of multiple planet-sized attractions. Intrigued and wary, Sonic the Hedgehog and his close friend Tails decide to check it out. There, they meet Yacker, a member of a race of aliens called Wisps. Once Tails builds a translator, they discover that other Wisps have been captured by Eggman, who intends to use their energy to power a mind-control laser aimed at Earth. Sonic travels across the planets, freeing the Wisps and deactivating the generators connected to the amusement park. Along the way, he reunites with several of his allies, who are also working to stop Eggman's scheme. After Sonic rescues the Wisps, Eggman attempts to launch the weapon, but a piece of debris causes it to fail. As the amusement park starts to collapse, Sonic faces off against Eggman. Using the Nega-Wisps, Eggman activates his final device—a robot that channels the abilities of all the Wisps Sonic has encountered. As the machine weakens, the Wisps break free and assist Sonic in defeating Eggman, sending him tumbling into the void. The Wisps then help Sonic escape the exploding park. Back on Earth, Yacker expresses his gratitude to Sonic and Tails. But soon, Sonic and Tails discover that the main Mother Wisp has been corrupted by dark energy and has become the Nega-Mother Wisp. Sonic uses the Chaos Emeralds to transform into Super Sonic and battles her. After defeating her, the Mother Wisp is restored and the Wisps say their goodbyes to the heroes. In a post-credits scene, Eggman is shown stranded in space with his lackeys Orbot and Cubot.
