Sonic Eraser is a video game from the Sonic the Hedgehog series that was accessible to users of the Sega Meganet, a modem for the Sega Mega Drive in Japan. Although it's part of the Sonic franchise, aside from including the main character, it shares little in common with other games in the series. Because the Meganet was never released outside Japan, Sonic Eraser became a "lost" entry in the Sonic lineup until February 2004, when the Sonic CulT website obtained the ROM via Sega's Japan-exclusive download service. The game is a straightforward puzzle title. In the versus mode, when a player creates three consecutive lines of matching pieces, their Sonic attacks the opponent's Sonic, briefly causing the other player to lose control of their pieces. The game is available on Sega's B-Club download service.
