Summary

Sqoon is a side-scrolling shooter released in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System by Irem.

Storyline

Aliens ruling the planet Neptune discover they have exhausted their main food source, "man-ham livestock," and launch an invasion of Earth to consume humans. They melt the polar ice caps, causing entire continents to be swallowed by the sea. The General of the Earth Defense Army implores a pirate named Narikeen to retaliate using his submarine, Sqoon. Narikeen, by nature wicked, mocks the general's pleas but ultimately agrees to destroy the aliens. However, in the Japanese version, the message originates from the United States of America's Pentagon and reads in Romaji: SOS...SOS... OTOTOSEIJIN NO SHINRYAKU ARI KYSOKU NI KAIMEN JOSYOSERI SQOON SYUTSUGEKI SEYO KAITEI NI HEIWAO! U.S.A. PENTAGON
