Stack-Up is a video game launched in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System and was specifically designed for use with the Robotic Operating Buddy (R.O.B.). It is one of two titles in Nintendo's Robot Series, the other being Gyromite, known as Robot Gyro in Japan. While Gyromite is included with the R.O.B. unit and provides all necessary components for gameplay, Stack-Up is sold in a large box that includes extra bases and colored discs. The game's retail packaging contains numerous small plastic pieces, which can make it challenging to keep the set complete. Among collectors, Stack-Up is regarded as one of the rarest first-party NES titles.
In certain modes, Professor Hector teams up with R.O.B. to arrange blocks. In others, Hector battles for control of R.O.B. against glitches named Spike and Flipper, or goes up against Professor Vector.
