Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator

Summary

Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator is an arcade action game in which you command the Starship Enterprise. Your objective is to rescue the Federation from the threat of NOMAD! Before you can confront and destroy NOMAD, you must progress through ten levels, each made up of several rounds. In every round, you may face Klingon warbirds, dangerous anti-matter discs, asteroid belts, and lethal meteors, all of which can drain the Enterprise’s energy reserves. The game concludes when your energy is completely depleted. To combat these threats, the Enterprise is armed with an endless supply of phasers and a limited number of photon torpedoes. Each round also features one or more starbases; docking at a starbase will restore some of your resources, such as energy and torpedoes. The game is presented from two perspectives: the top half of the screen shows a third-person view of the Enterprise along with the ship’s status indicators, while the bottom half offers a first-person viewpoint.
