The DS version assigns various combat actions to the touchscreen, enabling players to swipe with the stylus through different moves to execute stronger combo attacks. The game includes two mini-games that take place throughout the story. In "Feel the Force," players pull orbs into a vortex, triggering impressive on-screen effects. In "Saber Lock," players must align their lightsaber at a right angle to their opponent's to gain an advantage in boss battles. The game also offers two multiplayer modes that allow players to compete against one another in arena-style fights.
In *Star Wars: The Force Unleashed*, players assume the role of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, tracking down hidden Jedi throughout the galaxy. The game follows the console versions' storyline closely, but with several key differences, including altered characters, changes to vehicles, and Wookiees turning into enemies rather than allies.
