Summary
Inspired by the movie adaptation of the Street Fighter franchise, Street Fighter: The Movie is a 2D, one-on-one fighting game that makes use of digitized visuals. Players can choose from 16 playable characters, with 14 available right away and two requiring unlocking. The character list mainly includes well-known Street Fighter figures, even featuring some who don't appear in the film, like Akuma. Additionally, a few characters are unique to this game, such as Sawada and Blade. This version should not be mistaken for the home releases of Street Fighter: The Movie, as the Arcade and home editions are considered distinct titles. Although the home versions include assets from the original Arcade release, they offer different stages and gameplay experiences. The Arcade version introduces more experimental features, while the home ports deliver a more conventional Street Fighter style, closely resembling that of Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
