Super F1 Circus Limited is nearly the same as Cream's previous Super Famicom racing title, Super F1 Circus. However, shortly after that game's release, Cream received approval from FOCA (Formula One Constructors' Association, a group of car manufacturers in Formula One) to use real driver and team names in their future Super F1 Circus titles. Super F1 Circus Limited was swiftly developed to capitalize on this new opportunity. Apart from the inclusion of authentic driver and team names, there are no major differences between this version and the earlier Super F1 Circus. The series would later receive a proper follow-up on the Super Nintendo, featuring improved visuals and added content with Super F1 Circus 2 in 1993.
