
Super Famicom Wars is a strategy game developed by Nintendo for the Super Famicom console. It was distributed through the Nintendo Power game service. The game serves as a sequel to the original Famicom Wars and as a predecessor to the Advance Wars series. Super Famicom Wars includes all 15 maps from the original 2-Player mode of Famicom Wars, allowing players to choose between the Red Star or Blue Moon factions. It also introduces a New 2-Player mode with 15 fresh maps where players can take control of the two new factions, Green Earth or Yellow Comet. Additionally, there is a 4-Player mode with 10 maps where all four factions battle each other. Completing the first 15 maps in 2-Player mode unlocks four unique final maps for each faction, bringing the total number of maps to 42. Like the original, players can assign each faction to be controlled by either a human or the AI. A new addition in Super Famicom Wars is the ability to choose a General for each faction. There are seven Generals, each possessing a special ability. The game also introduces eight new unit types and new structures such as research labs and train stations.
