Storyline

Every hundred years, a massive comet streaks across the sky above the Mushroom Kingdom. One year, it blotted out the heavens, trailing a cascade of shooting stars. The Toads gathered the Star Bits and delivered them to the castle, where they were transformed into a powerful Power Star. It was a joyous time in the Mushroom Kingdom. Then, one evening, Mario received a letter... "Dear Mario, I’ll be at the castle on the night of the Star Festival. I have something special to give you. From Peach" Holding the invitation, Mario made his way to the castle just as the Star Festival reached its peak. Surrounded by Toads cheerfully catching falling Star Bits, Mario was eager to enjoy the evening’s celebration. But then, something unexpected occurred...
