Super Mario Maker unleashes the creative spirit in everyone. For the first time, players can share and enjoy custom levels crafted by their friends. The intuitive Wii U GamePad makes level design simple and accessible, almost like drawing ideas on paper. Gamers can explore a vast array of imaginative Mario levels created by players from around the globe. The game features a guidebook of approximately 100 pages that showcases the limitless potential of Super Mario Maker. To mark the 30th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros., Nintendo is releasing two special Mario amiibo figures. Using these amiibo in Super Mario Maker grants a Big Mushroom power-up, letting Mario grow large and smash blocks from all angles, while also applying a nostalgic visual filter that mimics the look of classic CRT televisions. Additionally, numerous other amiibo will work with Super Mario Maker via a new item known as the Mystery Mushroom. This item transforms Mario into various characters like Link, Kirby, or Wii Fit Trainer, complete with unique animations and sounds. These character outfits can be earned by completing the 100 Mario Challenge mode, or by tapping the corresponding amiibo on the Wii U GamePad.
