Summary
In *Super Monkey Ball 2*, the goal is to steer a monkey confined inside a transparent ball through a series of mazes to reach the finish line. The game offers three distinct modes: story mode, challenge mode, and practice mode. Story mode allows unlimited attempts to complete each stage, and after finishing 10 stages, a short movie clip plays, unlocking a new set of 10 stages. Challenge mode imposes a limited number of monkeys and a time limit, requiring players to conquer progressively harder levels. Practice mode lets players replay any stage they've already completed in the other two modes. In addition to the core game modes, *Super Monkey Ball 2* includes a variety of fun-filled party games. These include Monkey Race, Monkey Fight, Monkey Target, Monkey Billiards, Monkey Bowling, Monkey Golf, Monkey Boat, Monkey Shot, Monkey Dogfight, Monkey Soccer, Monkey Baseball, and Monkey Tennis. The party games support one to four players.
Storyline
The story begins with the Super Monkey Ball crew and the residents of Jungle Island enjoying a peaceful day, until Dr. Bad-Boon's airship appears overhead and sucks up all the bananas. AiAi demands their return, but Bad-Boon refuses unless MeeMee agrees to marry him. She declines, and Bad-Boon takes off, prompting the Super Monkey Ball team to spring into action. Dr. Bad-Boon's first evil plan is to destroy Jungle Island by triggering a volcanic explosion using a time bomb. He places it inside the volcano, where the team discovers it. GonGon insists on destroying the bomb, ignoring MeeMee's warnings. He punches it out of the volcano, and it ends up landing on Bad-Boon's airship. The ship crashes into the ocean, forcing Bad-Boon to swim for safety as the team gives chase.
