The Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Famicom version of Smash T.V. Smash T.V. was an arcade game developed by Eugene Jarvis and Mark Turmell for Williams in 1990. It is a dual-stick shooter similar to its predecessor, Robotron: 2084 (also created by Jarvis). Like the earlier title, players fight through waves of enemies using guns. The storyline of Smash TV is set in a futuristic game show where contestants battle for prizes and survival. Since the Super Nintendo lacks dual-stick controls, the ABXY buttons are used for aiming the player's weapon, allowing for 8 possible directions.
