Sweat! was an unfinished game intended to be Starpath's counterpart to Activision's Decathlon for the Supercharger, a cassette-based expansion peripheral. With the Supercharger enabling more memory and bigger games, Sweat! likely would have been a standout title had it ever reached completion. Unfortunately, this didn't happen, as the video game market was collapsing and consumers were no longer spending on standard games, let alone those requiring specialized hardware. Around this time, the struggling Starpath merged with Epyx. Many of Starpath's developers moved to Epyx and repurposed the concept from Sweat! to develop Summer Games.
