Sword Coast Legends also captures the roleplaying interaction between players and Dungeon Masters through DM Mode, a groundbreaking real-time feature where Dungeon Masters lead players through personalized, customizable quests. In DM Mode, the Dungeon Master interacts with players and helps them enjoy the game in a style that best fits their group, offering a custom-tailored, cooperative 4 vs 1 experience that any RPG or tabletop enthusiast will appreciate. As of July 25, 2018, multiplayer servers for the game were shut down and all saved player data was erased. Players who own the game on Steam will still be able to access all offline content, including the single-player campaign.
