A NES adaptation of Tecmo Bowl was also made available in arcades through the Nintendo PlayChoice-10 system. Thanks to the NFLPA licensing agreement, each team's roster mirrors that of its real-life NFL counterpart from the same city or state. Tecmo Bowl features players from twelve of the most popular and successful teams of that era. Two versions of the game were released for the NES in the U.S. The first can be recognized by its black and gold seal of quality, with Eric Dickerson as the running back and Albert Bentley as Indianapolis' kick returner. The second version has a white and gold seal, featuring Albert Bentley as the running back and Clarence Verdin as the kick returner.
