Summary

A puzzle game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy, it marks the beginning of the Puzzle League series. The original Super Famicom version included unique art and characters, which were swapped out in the English release for characters from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. The Yoshi-themed Game Boy edition was later made available in Japan as well. A version for the Super Famicom's Satellaview satellite modem service was also released afterward.

Storyline

The story mode is set in the world of Yoshi's Island, where Bowser and his henchmen have placed a curse on all of Yoshi's companions. As Yoshi, the player must challenge and defeat each of his friends to break the curse. After all friends are rescued, the game moves on to a lineup of Bowser's underlings, culminating in a showdown with Bowser himself. In these final battles, the player can choose to control Yoshi or any of his now-freed friends for each stage.
