The Addams Family

Summary

Inspired by the Addams Family film, the TurboGrafx-16 CD edition offers a unique experience compared to other Addams Family games. In this version, players take on the role of Tully Alford, the Addams family's unscrupulous lawyer. He discovers that a valuable treasure is hidden in a vault somewhere within the family's eerie mansion and sets out to claim it. Naturally, his quest is anything but simple, as the eccentric Addams family members, along with a host of ghosts and monsters, will do everything in their power to stop him. Like other Addams Family games, this is a side-scrolling action title. Tully Alford's primary weapon is an umbrella that can fire energy blasts at enemies. He can also jump and crouch to dodge attacks. The game is set in a central hub—the mansion's hall—with many rooms connected to it, most of which are locked at the start. The core gameplay involves exploring these accessible areas, collecting keys to unlock new doors, and gradually uncovering the mansion's secrets. Some rooms contain valuable items and power-ups, while others are filled with enemies or feature boss battles that must be overcome to progress.

Storyline

The player takes on the role of Tully Alford, the unscrupulous lawyer of the Addams family. He discovers that hidden somewhere within the family estate is a vast treasure locked inside a vault. Determined to claim it, he sets out to explore the mansion and recover the riches. Of course, things won’t be simple—crazed Addams relatives, along with a host of ghosts and creatures, will stop at nothing to ensure the lawyer’s downfall.
