The California Raisins: The Grape Escape

Summary

In this single-player side-scrolling action game, the player takes on the role of a California Raisin as he journeys through five stages to rescue the band and recover their stolen musical notes from a group of envious musicians. The player can walk, jump, climb vines, perform a moonwalk by pressing the "select" button, and fire an endless supply of grape jelly beans as weapons. Like other Capcom titles such as Mega Man and DuckTales, the first four levels can be played in any order, but the final stage becomes accessible only after collecting all the musical notes from the previous levels. The first four stages are The Grape Vine, The Factory, The Maize Maze, and The Juicery, with the final stage set in The Clouds. Throughout each level, players can gather 'I' icons for temporary invincibility, standard black musical notes for bonus points, 'Sunshine' icons to heal health, and 'Raisinette' icons to earn an extra life. Additionally, hidden items can be discovered by shooting at empty space or at columns.
