Summary

The Elder Scrolls V: Hearthfire is the second official expansion for the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim. Hearthfire centers on buying land and designing, constructing, and managing a personal homestead. Players can also hire stewards, carriage drivers, and a personal bard to assist with their new estate. With five pre-constructed houses already available for purchase in Skyrim, it is now possible to own property in every hold, except Winterhold. Additionally, a new adoption system has been added, allowing the Dragonborn to adopt children and raise them in their new home, provided there is space. Existing homes can also be modified to include a dedicated children's bedroom.
